When was the last time you ran around barefoot? Or placed your feet in a moving stream? Or went swimming in a natural pool? You probably haven’t experienced these activities since you were a child (if ever)! But recent studies are showing that this can actually improve your health.

You may hear about grounding during guided meditations, on your favorite influencers' posts & stories, and in self-help books. But what really is grounding?

What is Grounding?

To be grounded is to feel centered and at one with your surroundings. It is a connection to Mother Earth and the present moment simultaneously. It’s also known as ‘earthing’. Simply put, it is a way for you to get in tune with the earth. It can be done through simple earth-connecting activities (a lot of which involve you having bare feet outside).

Grounding or “earthing” is a therapeutic practice that involves you connecting to the earth.
