What is an Inner Child?
Your inner child is part of your subconscious. It is characterized as playful and spontaneous, it is sometimes coupled with hurt and anger due to childhood trauma. Your inner child is your original self. This part of you has been picking up messages from your surroundings since before you could process what was going on around you.
We all have an inner child, some are lying more dormant than others. But it is important to feel connected to this aspect of yourself. You may find that you exhibit patterns and behaviors that don’t feel justified. Situations may even make you feel like a child again. This is your inner child calling out to you, letting you know that healing needs to take place.
Are You Connected to Your Inner Child?
Inner child connection is a vital part of healing and growth. When you are disconnected from this aspect of yourself you may feel discomfort or the inability to react properly.
Signs you are disconnected from your inner child:
- You have “temper tantrums”
- You have trouble trusting others
- You have co-dependent tendencies
- You feel guilt easily
